Data Deletion Request: Relay Order Desk

Email [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion request”. Include:

• The Instagram username of the account whose data you want deleted.
• A short statement that you control that account, or are authorized to act for it.

When you make a request, we collect your email address, your Instagram username, the verification code we email to you, and our correspondence with you about the request. These are kept in Lyra’s mailbox and Lyra’s Instagram inbox, separately from the capture database. We use the username only to match your verification message to your account.

Lyra will never ask you for a password, an access token, or an Instagram or Facebook login or two-factor authentication code. Never send us any of them. The only code used in this process is the one-time deletion-verification code that Lyra emails to you.

   Acknowledgement

   We reply within 7 calendar days.

   Ownership check

   We email you a one-time code. It expires after 24 hours and can be used once. You send that exact code as a direct message from the Instagram account to @lyradatasystems. We check it in our Instagram inbox. If the code does not arrive in time, or does not match, we cannot verify ownership and will tell you so.

   Finding your records

   Once ownership is verified, we look for stored records linked to your account. Some records may not be linkable to a person. If we cannot match them to you, we will say so.

   Deletion

   We delete the records we can match to you within 30 days of verification.

   Confirmation

   We email you what was deleted, in counts only, and what we could not match and why.

• “We could not find records” is not the same as “no data exists.”

  If we cannot link stored records to your verified account, we will say that. It does not confirm that no data about you exists, and it does not confirm that deletion is complete for data we cannot link to you.

• Data held by Meta and your own copy

  We cannot guarantee removal of your copy of any message, or of data Meta retains independently. Contact Meta directly about that data.

• Lyra’s copies of your verification message

  The operator removes Lyra’s copy from its Instagram inbox within 30 days after we complete your request, whether or not the message reached our webhook. A copy in our local database is deleted by the earlier of the two applicable deadlines: the capture-retention limit, or 30 days after we complete your request.

• Backups

  Copies that existed in backups before a deletion may keep the deleted records until those backups expire or are overwritten.

• Request materials

  Your request emails and correspondence, verification codes, the username you gave us, our internal request notes, any verification message we captured, and Lyra’s copy in its Instagram inbox are deleted within 30 days after we complete your request.
